INTRODUCTION—What is ISO 9000?
The International Standards Organization (ISO) has formulated various sets of guidelines for companies to follow. Companies that follow these guidelines will then have in place a quality system that insures consistency in their processes, and that can be verified by outsiders.
Simply put, an ISO quality system works as follows: First, say what you do. Second, do what you say. Third, prove it.
SAY WHAT YOU DO
Our quality system is described in two ways. The administrative end functions (i.e. purchasing, record-keeping, etc.) are outlined in the Office Manual. The production end functions (i.e. work instructions, maintenance requirements etc.), located in the Field Manuals, which are made available for all our personnel.
DO WHAT YOU SAY
Adherence to the procedures and work instructions in the Manuals enable our personnel to maintain the high quality and consistency that has become a trademark of LaFleche Roofing.
PROVE IT
Documentation of all our activities, internal quality audits of personnel, and external auditing by an independent ISO Registrar insure that the quality system functions as designed.
OUR QUALITY SYSTEM
LaFleche Roofing implemented our quality system in the late 1990’s, and in 2000 qualified for, and received accreditation in, the ISO-9002: 1994 standard. Since that time, we have continued to improve the quality system, and in 2003 we became registered to ISO-9001: 2000, which is the latest current standard.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR OUR CUSTOMERS
LaFleche Roofing has always stood for quality and consistency of service. Registration to the ISO-9001:2000 standard is our way of supplying proof and assurance to our customers, new and existing.
